What a Personalised BaZi Reading Offers
A personalised BaZi reading is not a sun-sign profile, nor a templated personality test dressed in Chinese aesthetics. Instead, it is a classical BaZi (八字) reading drawn from the exact moment of your birth, and interpreted with care for your specific situation.
BaZi, also known as the Four Pillars of Destiny, is one of the oldest systems of Chinese astrology. Whereas Western astrology maps the positions of planets, BaZi works with the eight characters that describe your birth moment in the Chinese sexagenary calendar — two characters each for the year, month, day, and hour. Together, these eight characters form a chart of Five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) whose interactions reveal your natural temperament, your patterns of strength and tension, and the energetic shape of the life phase you are currently in.
Unlike systems that read the same archetype for everyone born in the same year, a personalised BaZi reading works from a far more specific foundation.

What I Need From You
At checkout, please provide:
1. Your full date of birth (YYYY-MM-DD)
2. Time of birth, with AM/PM (or “unknown”)
3. Birthplace (city, country)
4. Gender at birth
5. Your area of focus: career / relationships / life path
6. Your first name or initials
After your order, I will email you for any additional context — for example, your current situation, what prompted you to seek a reading, and anything specific you would like the reading to attend to. Consequently, this conversation lets me prepare a reading that genuinely serves you, rather than a generic chart description.
A Note on Birth Time
A personalised BaZi reading requires an accurate birth time. Indeed, the hour pillar is one of four pillars of your chart — without it, the reading loses substantial depth.
If your time is known exactly, that is ideal. When you have only a rough window (for example, “around 3 PM” or “early morning”), I will work with this and note any limitations in your reading. However, if you have no idea at all, I can still prepare a reading using the three pillars I do have (year, month, day), and I will be honest about what is missing. In that case, please indicate “no birth time known” — I will not invent one.
How Your Personalised BaZi Reading Is Prepared
Each reading is prepared in classical BaZi methodology. Specifically, I read your chart through the structures used in traditional Chinese practice: the Day Master, the Useful God (用神), the Ten Gods (十神), the Luck Pillars (大运), and the relationships between heavenly stems and earthly branches. These are the same frameworks taught in classical Chinese sources.
Furthermore, I am Dr. Jason E — President of the Australian Chinese I Ching Association, and a lineage holder in four classical Daoist traditions. The methodology is therefore traditional. The language I use to share it with you, however, is direct and modern — Chinese terms appear with English translations and brief explanations, so you do not need prior knowledge to follow.

Your reading is delivered within 3 business days, sent as a PDF to the email address on your order. Since I am based in Brisbane, Australia (AEST), there may be a slight timezone delay in our initial exchange.
What This Is and Is Not
This reading is offered as a tool for self-understanding and reflection, grounded in classical tradition. Chinese astrology works with patterns and tendencies rather than certainties. Therefore, your chart shapes possibilities; what you do with them remains yours.
Moreover, you will receive an honest reading. If your chart shows challenges in your chosen area, I will name them directly. On the other hand, if it shows favourable currents, I will name those too. I do not soften readings to please, nor sharpen them to alarm.
